Church Leader Accused of Sexual Assault

A local man who calls himself a "prophet" is facing charges of sexually assaulting children.  On Friday, police arrested 75-year-old Benito Catello, who ran a church called "The Ministry" out of his home near Owens and Mount Hood.  Police say as part of the church, he took children on various outings including trips to Disneyland. Catello faces 29 felony charges, including sexual assault on a victim under 14, and lewdness with a minor under 14. He has been ordered held on a $295,000 bail.  Police say there were at least 30 members of his church and they believe there may be other victims.  Anyone with information on Benito Catello or other possible victims is asked to call Metro's Crimes Against Youth Bureau at 828-3421, or Crime Stoppers at 385-5555.
