Ex-NBA Star Reaches Deal on Gambling Debts

Former NBA player Antoine Walker has reached an agreement to settle his outstanding Las Vegas gambling debts. During a Clark County District Court hearing today, Walker's attorney and the DA's office announced the deal, which will require Walker to pay $12,835 a month to the DA's bad check program. Judge Melanie Andress-Tobiasson signed off on the agreement, but promised to bind Walker's case over for trial if he misses so much as one payment. In addition, Walker agreed to forfeit the $135,000 bail he posted after his arrest, as a down payment on the debts. Walker reportedly owes more than $900,000 in gambling markers to three Las Vegas casinos. In Nevada, such debts are prosecuted as bad check cases.
