The Nevada Supreme Court will hear arguments by suspended District Judge Elizabeth Halverson over a state law that allows her just two years in office. Halverson wants the high court to nullify the November election for her Department 23 seat, claiming her two-year term in office is unconstitutional. Oral arguments will be heard July 1st. Halverson faces a 14 count complaint, alleging she fell asleep on the bench, had improper contact with jurors, and created a "hostile work environment" for courthouse employees. She has continued to collect her 130-thousand-dollar a year salary since last July. Halverson has denied the allegations, and the state Judicial Discipline Commission will hear the case on the week of June 9th.
