Home Invasion Turns Deadly

What began as a home robbery in the northwest valley ended with a shooting that left the suspect and one of the homeowners dead. Just before 9 p.m. Thursday, police were called out to the 6500 block of Rancho Santa Fe Drive, near Ann Road and U.S. 95. Officers found two people dead inside the home. The homeowner told police he and his wife arrived home to find a burglar inside. The suspect apparently shot and killed the wife, then was fatally shot by the husband after the two got into a fight. Police say the suspect had been hired to do odd jobs around the house for the residents.
