San Bernardino County authorities have managed to seize over 40-thousand pounds of illegal fireworks purchased in the community of Pahrump. The "San Bernardino Sun" says deputies from the sheriff's department conducted operations along the California-Nevada border during the last two weekends in June, confiscating various illegal fireworks purchased in the fast-growing community west of Las Vegas. Pyrotechnics that are not allowed for sale in the Las Vegas Valley and in California can be purchased in Nye County, where Pahrump is located. That includes fireworks which explode, shoot into the air or move along the ground. A sheriff's spokeswoman says Californians go to Pahrump and buy the illegal fireworks, then bring them back into the Golden State for resale.
