An infant child died today after drowning in a pool at a home daycare center in the northwest valley. Police and paramedics responded to "Marabella's Home Daycare" on Gunlock Circle, near Lone Mountain and Decatur, shortly before 4 p.m. Police say a one-year-old and a three-year-old somehow got into the backyard pool, which was gated. Both were taken to UMC, where the one-year-old was pronounced dead. The three-year-old is expected to survive. All of the other children at the daycare were released to parents or guardians. Police are still investigating the incident, and have asked the owners of the center to cease all childcare activities until the probe is complete.
