Jurors who convicted former football great O.J. Simpson late Friday night say the secret recordings convinced them he was guilty. The "Los Angeles Times" reports the panel was convinced by the recording that proved Simpson talked about "the piece" even though his attorneys claimed he never saw a weapon and never asked anyone to take one to the Palace Station hotel room. During a courtroom news conference over the weekend the panel said the recordings, which also captured Simpson planning and carrying out the armed robbery and kidnapping, trumped the potentially suspect testimony of four former co-defendants. The panel said if they'd had to rely solely on the testimony it would have devastated the prosecution's case. The jurors said in spite of claims by defense attorney Yale Galanter, Simpson's 1994 Los Angeles murder trial had no bearing on their verdict.
