Not all news is bad on our local economy. Despite recent figures showing Nevada's unemployment at a 23-year-high, some major new businesses are opening their doors, meaning more jobs are available. Encore, Steve Wynn's newest resort, has more than 5,000 positions open and is still accepting applications. Also, the new Aliante Station in the northwest valley is hiring. It's set to open in November.
