The son of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid says he's seriously considering a run to become Nevada's next governor. Rory Reid tells the "Reno Gazette-Journal" he has commissioned a private poll to assess the possible difficulties of running on the same ballot as his father, who's up for re-election in 2010. Rory Reid has not yet made a final decision. Harry Reid himself commented on whether his son should run on the same ballot with him, saying quote, "I hope I don't drag him down too much." Rory Reid is the current chairman of the Clark County Commission. He's the first Democrat to declare interest in running for governor, although there has been talk Assembly Speaker Barbara Buckley may also run. Democrats believe they have a good chance of unseating incumbent Jim Gibbons. Last month, a "Review-Journal" poll said just one out of five Nevadans think Gibbons is doing a good or excellent job in office.
