The man convicted in a random knife attack at a North Las Vegas supermarket has been sentenced to jail time. Thirty-nine-year-old Jerry Gomez was in court Monday, where he was ordered to spend 4-10 years in jail for the March 2007 attack at the Food-4-Less on North Las Vegas Boulevard. Police say Gomez stabbed a slot attendant at the store, then wounded other workers as they tried to take him down. None of the injuries were serious. He was eventually subdued and later agreed to plead guilty by reason of insanity to one count of attempted murder.
