A suspect was fatally shot by a homeowner during a home invasion Thursday night. Police say a group of individuals attempted to break into the home on Sycamore Trail near Rancho and Vegas, but the homeowner opened fire on a male suspect after the front door of the house was kicked in. The elderly homeowner is not expected to face charges. The other suspects fled the scene and are still being sought.
