WaMu Completes Conversion to Chase

Local customers of Washington Mutual will notice a distinct change starting today. Chase Bank has officially completed its takeover of WaMu, and as of today has replaced all Washington Mutual references and signs to Chase. New York-based Chase bought Washington Mutual from the FDIC in September 2008. The company kept the old Washington Mutual branches as is until it could finish converting all WaMu computers to the Chase system. The 39 former WaMu branches in the Las Vegas area represent Chase's first foray into Nevada.
