Alan Stock
Talkers Magazine, the bible of the talk radio industry, has named Alan Stock as one of the 100 most influential talk radio hosts in America.
Radio and Records, the bible of the entire radio industry, named Alan one of six top local talk radio personalities in 2002, and the 2000
Electronic Media Awards honored Alan for the best radio show. In 2003, Alan was inducted into the Nevada Broadcasters Association’s Hall of Fame and The Alan Stock & Heidi Harris Show won the
Electronic Media Award for best locally produced talk show.
While Alan has worked in the television and radio industry for over 20 years, his career didn’t begin with the media.
Alan worked in the field of psychotherapy for 10 years. His specialties included working with poly-abuse drug addicts. He relied on his creative training and employed the techniques of role-playing and psychodrama.
While practicing psychotherapy with the drug-addicted population, he began to work for the Viacom Cable television system and commercial television in the San Francisco Bay Area. This led to Alan landing his first radio job with a small 1,000-watt station in Petaluma, California. From there, he gained a large following and won numerous awards and recognition at KSRO in Santa Rosa, California. After four years of honing his talk radio skills in Santa Rosa, Alan worked for San Diego’s heritage station KOGO (midday), Sacramento’s KSTE (morning drive) and San Francisco’s heritage station KSFO.
In June of 1999, Alan was hired as the afternoon drive time host at Infinity’s (Viacom/CBS) KXNT in Las Vegas, Nevada. In the first eighteen months, afternoon ratings quadrupled. In the fall of 2001, Alan became the morning co-host at KXNT.
Alan graduated with a Masters Degree in psychology from California State University at Dominguez Hills. Alan and his wife Rhoda have been married for 38 years, have twin 29-year old daughters and a son-in-law...and a Shiranian (Shih Tzu/Pomeranian) pooch named Daisy.
