Arizona Senator John McCain continued his swing through the Western states with a visit to Las Vegas on Friday. McCain, the apparent Republican Presidential nominee, attended a private fund raiser and luncheon at The Venetian. Supporters paid about a thousand dollars to attend the luncheon, with those wanting a picture with McCain shelling out about $2,300. It was McCain's first visit to Nevada as a Presidential candidate since last May. Meanwhile, Democrats hope to use nuclear waste storage as an issue against McCain in Nevada. In advance of McCain's visit, Nevada Democratic Party executive director Travis Brock accused the senator of "being wrong on our issues," and warned if elected, McCain would be the strongest proponent of the Yucca Mountain nuclear repository to be in the White House. In the past, McCain has said he favored storing nuclear waste at the Yucca site.
