Revenues Fall At Station Casinos

Station Casinos is the latest Las Vegas casino firm to report lower earnings. The company says it lost nearly $30 million in the first quarter, compared with a net profit of $23 million a year earlier. Station officials blame slower business and the cost of taking the company private. Despite the loss, Station Casinos is moving forward with several new projects, including construction on the new Aliante Station resort in North Las Vegas. The company is also working on plans for its new "Viva" project, a multi-billion dollar development on 110 acres at Tropicana west of I-15.
