Troubles At Trump International Hotel

Donald Trump's Las Vegas property is not immune from the current economic squeeze. The "Review-Journal" says about 70 employees at the Trump International Hotel and Tower" have been laid off. But Trump says the workers were, quote, "impacted by changes in their schedules." He blames a slowdown in closing sales at the buildings nearly 13 hundred units, but notes the workers will be back once more unit sales. The job changes affect about one-fifth of the Trump International's 400 employees. Trump says plans for a second hotel tower on the site just off the Strip are on hold until the economy shows signs of recovery. Trump is not alone in adjusting jobs to a slower Las Vegas economy. MGM Mirage laid off about 150 workers in February, while about 70 corporate level employees at Station Casinos were let go in May.
