Nevada casinos suffered a slight drop in gaming revenues during June. The state Gaming Control Board says casinos took in nearly $950 million, a drop of just over 1% compared with June 2007. Casinos on the Strip saw revenues fall by just over 3%, but downtown Las Vegas enjoyed a 10% jump in gaming wins. North Las Vegas casinos reported nearly 42% higher revenues from a year earlier, while casinos along the Boulder Strip enjoyed a nearly 25% increase during June. But casinos in Northern Nevada suffered double digit declines. In all, the state collected just over $52 million in taxes from June's revenues, a nearly 8.5% increase from a year ago.
