The local mother convicted of killing her seven-year-old daughter and injuring her eight-year old son will spend the rest of her life in prison. District Judge Stewart Bell handed down the life prison sentence with the possibility of parole after 56 years for 47-year-old Sherri Love. Back in June, a jury found her guilty of first-degree murder with a deadly weapon for killing her daughter Arabella Moreno. Love was also found guilty of attempted murder for wounding her son Brian Moreno. In February 2007, Love fatally stabbed Arabella more than 20 times, before turning the knife on her son Brian. He managed to get away and call for help. In a statement read to the judge by her attorney during Thursday's sentencing, Love claimed she was on medication when "something went terribly wrong." Her attorneys say Love suffers from bipolar disorder and post traumatic stress syndrome.
