Radio Star 4 CONTEST
1. How to Enter the Contest:
The “Radio Star 4” contest will begin on Saturday September 6th, 2008, and will end on Thursday October 2nd, 2008.
• To participate in the contest, you must be at least 21 years of age or older. Contestants must be present and checked in by a KXNT employee at the South Point Hotel Showroom on September 6th, 2008. Audition location and times are available by listening to KXNT, visiting www.kxnt.com, or in writing at the offices of KXNT.
• Upon check in at the South Point, each contestant will fill out an application, sign a participant release, have a photograph taken, and will be assigned a number by a KXNT Employee. Contestants will be called by number to record an approximately two to five minute “aircheck”. The aircheck will be based on “bullet pointed” instructions given by KXNT’s Program Director. Each audition will be recorded for broadcast on-air. (1) audition per contestant. Contestants will not be given a specified period of time to prepare, therefore it is recommended that contestants arrive at audition site as early as contestant deems necessary in order to properly prepare for audition. KXNT reserves the right to cut off the number of auditions due to time constraints.
• Airchecks from contestants will be reviewed by station management. From all entrants, KXNT will choose 20 quarter finalists.
• The quarter finalists will have their aircheck played on KXNT over a two day period beginning Tuesday September 9th, 2008 and ending Wednesday September 10th, 2008 during KXNT Local Programming, as well as podcast at KXNT.com. The Airchecks played on the air and on the website will be from contestants audition, edited for time constraints and relevant content.
• From the 20 quarter finalists aired on KXNT, station management will then choose ten semi finalists to move on to the semi-finals. Semi Finalists will be notified by telephone on September 12th, 2008 after on air announcement of semi finalists. These Ten semi-finalists will have their airchecks judged again from staff of KXNT and KXNT website voting. On Thursday September 18th, the ten finalists will be cut to five. KXNT Staff has final say on who the five finalists will be.
• These 5 semi finalists will be given the opportunity to perform as a co-host for at least one hour live, one finalist per day. This opportunity will occur either September 18th, 19th, 22nd, 23rd, or 24th, 2008 during the Casey Hendrickson Show. Contestants will not be given a specific time to prepare for their on air appearance and are encouraged to invest what time they deem necessary to ensure their own personal goals. An aircheck of these performances will be made and then reviewed the evening of September 24th, 2008. On Thursday, September 25th 2008, during KXNT’s Morning Source, management will choose three finalists. These finalists will be notified by phone immediately after announcement on air.
• The three finalists will perform live with KXNT’s Morning Source, one (1) finalist per day, From Monday September 29th, September 30th and October 1st. Each finalist will perform between two to three hours co hosting with KXNT Staff. Contestants will not be given a specific time to prepare for their on air appearance and are encouraged to invest what time they deem necessary to ensure their own personal goals. Management will determine a winner from those three finalists and announce that winner on Thursday October 2nd, 2008.
• KXNT, at its sole discretion, reserves the right to disqualify any participant if an audition contains illegal, indecent or otherwise offensive material, or if such audition contains material whose content is deemed at the sole discretion of KXNT to be unsuitable for public performance or broadcast on KXNT.
2. Eligibility Restrictions:
“Talk Radio Star” is open to those who are 21 years of age or older who do not work, directly or indirectly, for which compensation is received or not, regardless of position, for any “spoken word” formatted radio stations in the State of Nevada within the last six months. These types of stations include, but are not limited to:
• News Formatted stations
• News / Talk Formatted stations
• Sports Formatted stations
• Sports / Talk Formatted stations.
• Employees of KXNT, its licensee, corporate parents CBS Radio, Inc., and Viacom Inc., their affiliated entities, their affiliated advertising agencies, participating sponsors/promotional partners, other radio (as described above) / television stations in the Las Vegas metropolitan area, and all former employees of KXNT and the members of their immediate families are ineligible to participate or win.
• Winner must hold a valid driver’s license and social security card to become an independent contractor of KXNT / CBS Radio, Inc.. Winner must be a legal citizen of the United States or hold an official Green card. Winner must also sign all necessary releases & independent contractor paperwork before becoming an independent contractor of CBS Radio, Inc.
• Participants will be required to sign a participant release prior to audition.
3. Prizes:
One Grand prize will be given away. The Grand prize includes:
• A part-time independent contractor position at KXNT. This position is considered “at will” and can be terminated at any time without notice.
• Winner is not guaranteed any "specific" day parts/air-shifts. Winner must be flexible and able to cover weekend air-shifts and potential weekday opportunities.
• KXNT programming will determine what air-shifts the winner is to work.
• Winner must be 21 years or older to work at KXNT.
• Promotional appearances, if needed will be paid as applicable.
• Winner cannot and will not Exceed (30) hours per week as an independent contractor.
• Winner must participate in air-check reviews and all required Meetings.
• Winner must clear all media interview requests though KXNT Program Director.
• Winner must clear all show topics and content intended for broadcast through KXNT Program Director.
• Winner must provide his/her own headphones for air work.
• Winner must sign an independent contractor agreement.
• Winner will not be considered as an employee of KXNT. Winner will not be entitled to any benefits afforded to KXNT employees (i.e. health, retirement, disability or worker’s compensation insurance) nor will Winner withhold payroll taxes.
• Winner must provide a valid driver’s license and social security card to become an independent contractor of CBS Radio, Inc. Winner must also be a legal citizen of the United States or hold an official Green Card.
• Winner must appear at the office of KXNT located at 6655 W. Sahara Ave. Suite C-202 Las Vegas NV. 89146 on {{{Date to be Determined}}} to fill out all paperwork to become an independent contractor of KXNT, CBS Radio, Inc.
This contest prize is not transferable. Should winner decline offer, the offer is not longer valid and KXNT reserves the right to choose another winner from the remaining finalists.
4. Selection of Winners:
This is a contest based on subjective analysis, where winners are not chosen based on clearly definable criteria. Therefore decisions of station management with respect to the contest are final.

• KXNT further reserves the right to cancel, terminate, or modify the contest if it is not capable of completion as planned.
5. Conditions:
• Payment of all federal, state and local taxes is solely the responsibility of the winner. Winners may be required to sign an IRS Form W-9 or the equivalent.
• By participating in the contest, the participants agree to have their name, voice, or likeness used in any advertising, Internet (www.kxnt.com) or broadcasting material relating to this contest, without additional financial or other compensation, and to sign a publicity release confirming such consent. By participating in the contest, participants consent to the unrestricted use, editing, listening, performance, broadcast, distribution and/or duplication of their auditions by KXNT or CBS Radio, Inc. without any additional financial or other compensation.
• Prior to awarding any prize, KXNT in its sole discretion may require Winner to sign a liability release agreeing to hold KXNT, its corporate licensee, parent corporations, their affiliated companies and the officers, shareholders, directors, employees, agents and representatives of each of them harmless against any and all claims or liability arising directly or indirectly from the prize or participation in the contest.
• KXNT reserves the right to make changes in the rules of the contest, including the substitution of a prize or prizes of equivalent or greater value, which will become effective upon announcement.
• No purchase is necessary. The contest is void where prohibited.
• Failure to comply with the contest rules may result in a contestant's disqualification at the sole discretion of KXNT.
• KXNT is not responsible for typographical or other errors in the printing, the offering or the administration of the contest or in the announcement of a prize.
