Economy Leads To Increase Of Homeless Teens

Officials at the Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth say they have seen a 100-percent increase in youth on the streets since this time last year. High unemployment and the foreclosure crisis are believed to be direct contributors to the spike in Nevada youths on the streets. Although the numbers of kids on the street is rising, the amount of donations made towards their cause is not. Kathleen Boutin, founder of the NPHY said that they are seeing more people come in for services and less people giving because of economic hardships. Donations for Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth can be dropped off at 4800 S. Maryland Parkway, Suite E.
