Obama In Reno, Touts Bailout Plan

Democratic Presidential nominee Barack Obama urged Congress to get behind an economic bailout package during a speech in Reno this morning. Obama spoke to a crowd estimated at several thousand on the campus of the University of Nevada Reno. His 30-minute address focused almost entirely on the problems with the economy and the recent turmoil on Wall Street. Obama said, "This is no longer just a Wall Street crisis. It's an American crisis, and it's the American economy that needs this rescue plan." Republican Presidential nominee John McCain had previously planned to visit Reno this Thursday, but his campaign now says that appearance has been canceled. But former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney will campaign for McCain on Thursday in the Northern Nevada town of Elko.
