A local couple is in custody for leaving their two underage children in the car while gambling at a local casino over the weekend. It happened around 3:00 Saturday afternoon at the Tuscany Casino on Flamingo east of the Strip. Police estimate the children were left in the car for about a half hour, while the parents were inside playing slot machines. The children are now in protective custody. The parents, 35-year-old Brian Paynter and 36-year-old Shuang Chen, were arrested on two counts of child endangerment. They remain held at the Clark County Detention Center.
