Nevada's newest federal lawmaker is now officially in office. Dina Titus was sworn in today as part of the 111th Congress on the floor of the House of Representatives. Titus was joined by her husband, mother and sister as she took the oath of office from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. She defeated Jon Porter in November's election to represent Nevada's Third Congressional District, which includes Henderson, Boulder City, and parts of southeast Clark County. Titus, a Democrat, has served in the Nevada State Senate for the last 20 years, and ran unsuccessfully for governor in 2006.
