Nevada's budget blues continue and Governor Jim Gibbons says he'll submit an amendment today that will seek additional salary cuts for state workers, teachers and university employees. Gibbons originally proposed pay cuts of six percent for the public employees, but his budget has drawn fire from both the Republican and Democratic camps. His staff predicts today's revenue estimates for state government from the Economic Forum will produce another 500-million-dollar hit to the budget. Also yesterday, Gibbons vowed to veto any tax increases the Legislature may approve.
