Motorists need to take note of a lower speed limit on State Route 159 through the Red Rock National Conservation Area. The Nevada Department of Transportation has lowered the speed limit to 50 miles an hour. The road is popular with bicyclists and some sought help from the Legislature, and lawmakers passed a bill to address their concerns. The change came after a speed study was conducted by the transportation department.
