Newsradio 840 KXNT's "Morning Source" host Alan Stock called for Senator John Ensign to resign today. Stock had supported Ensign after the Senator admitted a previous affair with a campaign staffer earlier this year. But this morning, Stock said he's revoked his support as additional details have surfaced about the scandal, including possible ethics violations. Those potential violations include allegations that Ensign may have attempted to get a lobbying job for the woman's husband with NV Energy, without him registering as a lobbyist.
Stock is concerned that the continued investigation will damage the Republican Party and other candidates. He suggests Ensign should resign and be replaced with another conservative rather than risk a challenge from a Democratic candidate like Shelley Berkley.
