New Details on Accident Involving Children

Police say seven children were unrestrained in a car when three tumbled out of the moving PT Cruiser and plunged headlong into the street over the weekend. The driver, 28-year-old Nancy Lopez, reportedly told police she was drunk during the incident Sunday evening on Bruce near Owens. One of the victims, a three-year-old boy, is Lopez's son and was cut above the eye. Vanessa Ramirez, the 19-year-old mother of the other two children who fell out, also faces multiple charges. The children are recovering and will remain at Child Haven pending an investigation of the incident.
