Men will finally be allowed to wait tables at the historic Lawry's The Prime Rib restaurant in downtown Chicago. For more than 70 years the restaurant only hired women. That changed when a class-action sexual discrimination lawsuit was filed in 2006. According to the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission suit, Lawry's enacted a companywide policy of only hiring women since 1938. The EEOC announced a settlement yesterday of over one-million-dollars with Lawry's Restaurants, which includes establishments in Chicago, Las Vegas, Dallas and Los Angeles.
