Hardesty Will Seek Second Term

Chief Justice Jim Hardesty has his eye on a second term on the bench. He's announced he'll run for the Nevada Supreme Court again. The 60-year-old Hardesty is an ex-Washoe County district judge. He was elected in 2004 to a six-year term on the high court when he defeated Cynthia "Dianne" Steel. In assessing the court, Hardesty said it's adjudicating more cases in a timely manner. He also emphasized the the court has effectively handled taxpayer money, returning two-and-a-half-million dollars to the state's treasury last year.
