The California owner of the newyorknewyork.com website insists it does not infringe on the trademark of the New York-New York hotel-casino. Ronnie Katzin of Tarzana was sued by the hotel-casino last week and removed the image of the property from the website. Katzin claims he obtained the domain name around 1996, before the property opened and intended it as a site to promote New York City. He says that before the lawsuit was filed, he had no idea the Las Vegas hotel and owner MGM Mirage had a problem with the site.
