The New Years Eve fireworks on the Las Vegas Strip are going back to the hotel rooftops this year. That announcement came Friday from the Convention and Visitors Authority and the co-sponsor Las Vegas Events. Last year, due to new Clark County fire codes, the New Years fireworks were launched from parking garages and parking lots. That made the show much more difficult to see and prompted a slew of complaints. Organizers say they've worked with county fire officials to establish new safety guidelines that will allow the fireworks to return to the roofs. The pyrotechnics will be launched from the MGM Grand, Planet Hollywood, Caesars Palace, Treasure Island, the Venetian, and the new Aria Resort at CityCenter.
